Custom Doll: Mini-Marci

Description

This doll happened because I'd always wanted to do a self-portrait doll and when I needed to buy Hunter Huntsman for my upcoming Spybot doll he comes in the two-pack with Ashlynn Ella, so I thought why not? A mini-me!

Mini-Marci is a customized Ever After High Ashlynn Ella doll. Her hair was "dyed" with Sharpies rather than rerooted. And that's where the trouble started. I refer to Mini-Marci as my "How Not To Customize" doll because I ignored all the warnings online about sharpie dying since I'd done it once before (on my wedding Rapunzel). That was dumb. The sharpie got onto her face, necessitating a full facial paint which I really did not know how to do at the time. It ended up too thick, mismatched with the doll's actual skin, and sloppy. I do think her actual detail paints turned out fine, but I can guarantee you she'll get a repaint someday because the "foundation" is scraping off already. Additionally, her hair still smudges, so she has red-orange wrists now and also dyed my Color Magic Elsa's face red (which prompted Elsa's transformation into Astrid). So there's a strong chance she'll get rerooted someday in the future as well. Mini-Marci is the only doll I have who has two full outfits, both based on clothes I own. Honestly, she might get more too.

So basically, take this as a warning not to dye doll hair with sharpies. It will not end well.
