This is the Camp Half-Blood necklace Annabeth Chase would wear, minus the class ring because I lost mine a couple of years ago. There are eleven beads- one for each year before Percy came to camp, one for each year Percy was there (PJATOs series), and one for The Lost Hero. The canon beads are the pine tree, the burning trireme, the centaur in a prom dress, the trident, the golden fleece (in this case a golden sheep), the labyrinth, and the Empire State Building. The rest were designed by me, and chosen as follows:
The strawberry- my backstory on this is that they sold more strawberries that year than in the history of the camp. Whatever works, right?
The bronze knife- Hehe, I used the same color of paint for "bronze" and "gold", but ignore that. I've decided that this year, they either retrieved an important ancient weapon (Katoptris, maybe) or had something epic happen during a game of capture the flag.
The silver moon: EDIT: Okay, I can't do age math. Not a new discovery on behalf, believe me- I can't keep my own characters' ages straight 99 percent of the time. We're going to pretend this is an honorary bead given in honor of the Hunters visiting since it's such a rare occassion, and that I'm not challenged. (Yes, yes, I concede. I was wrong and all you people I thought were idiots were right. I'm the real idiot here, but the bead is too nifty to get rid of.)
The dragon head: again, The Lost Hero happens in winter, but there'd still be summer camp. Actually, I have less faith in this one not being trumped in a book or two, but I'll just change my necklace then. Festus' head, for the redemption of Cabin 9 and the plans to build Argo II.
All the beads are made of Sculpey. They are painted on both sides with acrylic paints and sealed with varnish. I was stupid and strung them backwards at first. Oops.
